On July 31, 2017 my fiancee brought her Subaru Impreza w 18,000 miles in for recall service (airbag replacement) and the service managers took advantage of her lack of auto repair knowledge by persuading her to authorize timing belt replacement.  This is a very expensive repair that is reserved for engines with over 100,000 miles and then only for autos the owner plan to keep for a long time.  Moreover, this work is not needed for a Non-Interference engine, which the Impreza has.  This means that if the belt were to fail, there would be no additional harm to the engine.  They took advantage of a passive and niave woman.  The service dept managers are unsrupulous and predators and this is a total rip-off.  Do not buy any cars from this dealer and certainly do not go there for any repair work, even warranty or recall work, as they will cajole you into doing expensive, unecessary work  Total, Total Rip-off Artists.
