Fleet AKA Fusion Credit Card ripoff, raised interest rates after raising my limit $3000 they don't care who they scam or ruin Wilmington Delaware
I transfered a balance to Fleet in March of 2002 with int. @ 9.99% All payments were made on time and most of the time payed twice the minimum amount.
In Dec. 2002 Fleet raised my limit from $6,000 to $9,000 automatically-I DID NOT REQUEST IT! nor did I need it. In July of 2003 after 15 months on not only on-time payments but paying double the min. due Fleet raised my interest rate to 15.99%. I of course called thinking it was a mistake but they told me that Fleet does random audits of their customers to see what their credit/debt ratio is and that I was considered a risk.
Well, needless to say I just about blew a gasket. I said "you're the ones who raised my credit limit $3,000 not more than 7 or 8 months ago and know you're telling me I'm a credit risk" I cancelled the card at that moment and told them that unless they lowered my int. rate I would not pay them another dime (stupid on my part, because now I have a late payment recorded on my credit report) I applied for a loan and my bank told me I had great credit and the loan would have gone through but it was declined because of Fleet's late payment charges.
So now I have an attorney working on it to restore my credit and flush Fleet down the toity. How can a company treat people this way and get away with it, I get irrate everytime I think about it. Stay away from these rip-off artists, they don't care who they scam or ruin.
