Recently there has been a plague of websites which were affected severely by Google's changes in Algorithm. One such website included "labdraw.com" - whereas others had included sites which used spam keyword lists to attract non related traffic, which in turn caused a high bounce rate.
Typically the sellers would say that "Oh the drop in traffic is just seasonal" or sellers may sell a site which costs a fortune to maintain, not disclosing the real costs, such as link building on a regular basis.
I took it on me to highlight a few such cases - including some comments on the listing for Labdraw.com
Guess what?
Yes, Flippa very quickly banned my account - and disregarded completely the issues I highlighted during due diligence on the public forum.
It would seem from their actions that Flippa is in cohoots with sellers who mislead buyers on purpose - this is because they receive a commission, on top of the regular advertising fee that sellers pay to list their site, hence it is in Flippa's interest that sellers achieve the highest possible bid, regardless of whether they have to deceive buyers as to the actual cost - and the severity of Google penalties.
It would seem furthermore that Flippa does not have any "policy experts" other than a few heavy handed incompetents who simply remove a user if their statements of truth may result in less commission for Flippa.com. This makes it the most amazing hangout on the web for Fraudsters to catch non suspecting buyers.
Notice: By using the word "Google Penalty" - I am not just refering to a "manual action" where the website owner receives a notification - but also to "automated" actions, where all of a sudden large ammounts of traffic is lost due to Google's automated actions for which no notice is sent to the site owner. These dates are evident though when Google analytics is observed and correlates to specific dates which industry professionals know about by comparing the traffic dips of various websites which has the same problems, resulting in their full or partial removal from Google Results.
Buyers of websites are urged to take utmost care when dealing with Flippa.com. It is not an impartial service and since it receives a listing fee from every seller, it has no interest in preventing bad deals from being floated on the marketplace.
