Florida Denture Clinic West Faulty workmenship, failure to live up to their word. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Hudson Florida
On September 8, 2008, I had an intermediate upper denture made at Florida Denture Clinic West for the sum of $685.00. I was told that I would have to wear the denture between 6 to 12 months while my gums healed and that I would be entitled to two re-linings during that time free of charge. As my gums healed I had the two re-linings applied for a better fit. At no point did the dental techs tell me that I should have the denture re-aligned, nor did they suggest that I schedule one in the future.
On Thursday, February 12, 2009, slightly more than 5 months later, my upper denture broke in half while attending a fish fry. Yes people, I broke my denture in half biting into a piece of fish! The clinic is only open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so on Monday, February 16, 2009, I went back to the clinic and told them that my denture had snapped in half and they told me that they would repair it for a fee of $95.00. I paid the fee and walked out with a repaired denture.
On Thursday, February 19, 2007, while sitting at home enjoying a bowl of Fiber One cereal, the denture snapped in half a second time. I went back to the clinic on Monday, February 23, 2009 and complained about the shoddy workmenship on the manufacturing of the denture and the subsequent repair job and asked the office for either my money back or a new denture. They refused to refund me any money and stated that they would build me a new denture for the "reduced" price of $550.00. This denture would also be an intermediate one.
I left the office in a huff vowing that they have not heard the last of this incident and that, while not being a senior citizen yet, I could not believe they would perform this type of work on people with fixed incomes, prying on the elderly.
Avoid this denture clinic at all costs. They refuse to stand behind their work and have a devil-may-care attitude about the patients they treat.
