Florida Sport and Recreation presented themselves as a corporation that had tremendous buying power in the travel industry. They offered the opportunity for us to become "shareholders" (licensees) in the corporation. During the live presentation, we were shown dramatic price reductions on Alaskan cruise fares, which was our primary objective in becoming a licensee in this company. We were told that, as licensees, we would have the same purchasing power as the major travel discount houses, such as Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, etc. This has proven to be a total misrepresentation.

In the past two weeks, we have begun serious planning for our Alaskan cruise. So far, Florida Sport and Recreation has only been able to closely match prices available online to the general public. In all cases, prices quoted through the cruise lines' Web sites have been lower than those quoted by Florida Sport and Recreation. The only benefit that FS&R is offering is their "Rewards Program" discount of approximately 4%.

In addition, there have been numerous times when we have used FS&R as a travel service for airfare and hotels. We found out too late that their prices were, in fact, higher than those we could have gotten on our own. Despite the way they represented themselves as a corporate entity, they are nothing more than travel agents. We would have known this immediately and been able to rescind our contract had we been able to access their Web site within the 3-day mandatory period. However, they told us that it would require a 14-day processing period before we would be given access to the Web site. We've been scammed!!!

We at Florida Sport and Recreation are disappointed to see such a complaint. All the customer had to do was call us, and we could have helped him with the program. These situations normally occur under a misunderstanding of the travel industry, or of the program. Again ,all they had to do was call. Our customer service is second to none. In fact we have set up a whole new division to alleviate the lack of knowledge of our services that ends up confusing and upsetting the customer. The new divisions that were developed are Member Services and Quality Control. The member was informed that when they purchase airfare they receive the best price at the time of booking. Some people, after the fact will go on the internet and see a price cheaper, but that is not on the same date or through the same airline. The Airline industry's prices fluctuate constantly. Sometimes you can even see that fluctuation right in front of your own eyes booking through internet organizations. With the Alaskan cruises there is no cheaper than Florida Sport and Recreation. The Alaskan cruise is the most sought after cruise in the world and the cruise lines can just about put any price on this cruise that they want. We still beat the travel agents and the internet provider's prices. Just yesterday, I checked into the Alaskan cruise prices for a member, and again it was a lack of understanding the program that caused this customers confusion. Also, ask these other travel providers for a written quote. Have them either, email or fax the quote to you. 90% of the time they will refuse, because they know the price they just quoted was false and they are only giving you this price so that they can sell you their travel. But, what happens when you get there is that Oh, I am so sorry Mr. Doc. The rate has changed because of the amount of people that has booked this cruise. or they are giving you a price for a stateroom at the bottom of the boat by the anchor. Our prices are firm. There is no From price and they include Port Fee's and taxes. Theirs don't. And if they say they do. They are probably lying to you. In our experience dealing with these situations these are the facts that I am finding. Plainly the customer is upset because what he has purchased seems to not be working for him. But, with one phone call and a little more understanding of how the program works he can learn to utilize the program to its fullest. We have an incredible customer service system.
