Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been receiving calls day and night at home and work from this collection agency.  No one ever leaves a message on my voice mail or answering machine.  Calls are early and late.  I finally happened to answer the phone a representative stated she is calling to collect a debt from Palisades LLC held by Citibank. I told her I had no Citibank accounts.  She then asked for my social security number. I refused to give it to her.

She then went on to tell me a letter was mailed to my address on 04/26/10, I told her I had not received any such letter.  She stated the original date of the debt was 1992. I explained I did not have credit cards or a debt from Citibank in 1992. I asked that she send me a letter before I would even agree to discuss.  She then put her supervisor on the phone Carlos Cruz.  He proceeded to try to make payment arrangements for the debt. I again explained until I have something in writing regarding this debt I would not make any arrangements.

He requested my email address, the letter arrived as a settlement offer of $900.00 on a balance of $1705.63.  The letter was not what I had requested.  I am reluctant to make any arrangements with this company since they can not even provide me proof that this is my debt.  Letter arrived with Last 4 of my SS number.  I am researching the statues of limitations for my state.  This company has so many ripoff reports listed on the internet.

palisades will sell this account to unifund, and they will try to sue you. My wife was sued by unifund who used a attorney that has used a sewer service to serve the papers (american legal process) whos owner is in jail now and had his busness shut down by the NY AG office. We've called citibank to try to find out whats going on with this account. All citibank customer service could say is that my wife has never had any acount with them with the SS# she provided. It's a mess.  GOOD LUCK

This is far beyond the 7 year statute of limitations

Don't give them a single penny, it's beyond any LEGAL collection If you do "Settle for less" it brings the debt current and then they WILL sue.

Right now all they can do is threaten and terrorize, ignore them.

Send a letter to their mailing address, make sure it's registered and print the registry number in the letter, say
This is long past the Statute of limitations, and is not going to be paid, do not Call me again.

Mil it REGISTERED and they'll have to go away, the only thing they can do is mail you an acknowledgment they got it and will not call anymore, if they do call you can sue them.

Odds are very good it's a scam,, but whether or not, it can't be collected now (Yes they will lie and say you'll be arrested, but they Can't.
