Ford credit repo. My truck was still in the 10 day grace period and FORD did a repo on it. Payment was not late til the 5th they got the payment on the 4th and picked it up over night on the 5th. I called Ford and they said I had to come up with all the late charges and be current plus the 350 repo fee. I called the again and spoke with there leader and he asked me what I wanted him to do. I have the answer now. The truck is paid off now go pound sand up your a**. After ten BRAND NEW FORDS guess what I will buy a subaru or something.

Taking a personal attach approach does not do anything. I PAID THIS TRUCK IN FULL. FORD and I are done forever. The grace period is a leaway FORD REPO'd it after five years of payments because they could make money then. THIS HAS NOT BEEN MY FIRST CAR PURCHASE and not my last. I will talk bad about them to the end of time. I have alot of friends and I make sure they know I have owned several FORDS and most ended up with massive repair bills and don't buy one you will regret it.

You need a bit of a reality check.

First of all, of course Ford is not going to say anything about it.  You are an adult..right?  As an adult you know when the payment is due, and you know how much is due.  You as an adult know when you pay late and if you need to pay the late fee.  You as an adult should know that if you "push" the payment to the very end of the "grace period" there are occasions you are going to end up getting received after the grace period.

Also, as an adult you made a legal agreement that gave you the concequences if you are late.  One of those concequences are reposession.  Ford or any company doesn't need to be your parents and keep reminding you.

Oh and as for your wife having credit...aren't you a great husband.  You can't even pay this payment on-time on a regular basis and your solution is to get your wife to use her credit.  So what happens when you don't pay that one either?  I am sure your wife will be very happy with you when you trash her credit as well.  This also brings up another question.  What happens when they reposess your car again under her credit?  Are you going to get into polygmany to pick up a few more wives?

But you have it all figured out right...Well good luck and can't wait to see your next RipOff report when things I mentioned start to happen.

Yes they did get the payment before the grace period. The payment history was always late and FORD accepted it ALL THE TIME. NEVER SAID A WORD ABOUT IT. I paid the late fees. What I forgot to mention was they called my brother-in law and he told them to pound sand up their a**. As far as my aquiring another car I will be able to buy whatever I want MY SPOUSE HAS A CREDIT RATING TOO.

A "grace" period has nothing to do with your payment being late.

If your payment is due on the 1st(for example) it is late on the 2nd.  The ONLY thing a grace period is for is the period of time before they assess a late fee.

Also, I can guarantee you are NOT telling the entire story.  If Ford(or any major finance company) went around reposessing cars of accounts that were 10 days late they wouldn't be able to function.   So I can also just about guarantee that you were not current and probably were a few months behind, or you have a history of being late and they were tired of dealing with you.

One other item..10 days is 10 Calendar Days.  If you have a payment due on the 25th of the month, and the month has 31 days you are 10 days late on the 4th of the next month..not the 5th.

The key that really puts it all together is this statement....

I called Ford and they said I had to come up with all the late charges and be current plus the 350 repo fee.

- Had you made the full payment before the end of the grace period, and this was the only time you were late, there would be nothing you would need to pay to make you current as the late fees would not have been assessed and you would have been current.

As for what you are going to buy next...with a Reposession on your report you are now a "Sub-Prime" borrower.  Forget anything remotely new.  "Or somthing" was a bit closer.  You will be lucky to get a tricycle with 2 bad wheels(okay not that bad..but pretty close).  Not to mention that you still legally owe the balance of your loan regardless of if you have the truck or not.  If you don't get it back they will sell it at auction(for about 25-33% of blue book) and then come after you for the balance of the loan.  This too will end up on your credit and they may eventually sue you if you fail to pay.
