Try using a thread insert first. It's a kit. It comes with a tap. Coat the end of the tap with grease to catch the metal chips. Be sure the piston is down when you tap. Run the tap in straight! Then, screw in the insert. Next, crank with plug out to blow out any chips. Screw in spark plug. Good as new!
