The staff here are very rude and disrespectful to the patients. They lack compassion and understanding for the patients and their families. I don't understand how a hospital is supposed to promote good mental health for the patients when they are treated worse than some animals in shelters. I wouldn't recommend this hospital for euthanizing an animal much less the care of a loved one.

I will never forget at dinner when this young woman refused an "order" to sit down and said "No I want a salad, I didn't get a salad" and was then forcibly grabbed and removed from the cafeteria as a lesson to the others .  I was shocked . I will never forget her screams of terror as she is dragged to the elevator and then pinned in the back of the elevator forearm across the chest by this sick sadistic control freak. No female actor in any horror movie could replicate a real life terror screams like I heard in real life as this young woman was assaulted.

The Department of Health and Human Services has declined an official request for information on its investigation into the nation’s largest chain of psychiatric hospitals. The information was solicited, in a strongly worded letter, by Sen. Charles Grassley, after BuzzFeed News found that UHS hospitals owned by the company — Universal Health Services — were locking in people who were not a danger to themselves or others and holding them until the payments ran out....

Scores of employees from at least a dozen hospitals said those facilities tried to keep beds filled even at the expense of the safety of their staff or the rights of the patients they were locking up.

In the BuzzFeed News investigation — which was based on nearly 300 interviews, including 175 current and former employees of the company, as well as a cache of internal documents — employees of 10 hospitals said they were under pressure to fill beds by methods that included exaggerating people’s symptoms and distorting their words to make them sound suicidal. The feds are finally taking this place down. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts denounced UHS’s alleged conduct. “People seeking mental health services deserve high-quality treatment — not abuse at the hands of companies that are locking patients up to turn a profit and defraud taxpayers,” she told BuzzFeed News. “The Department of Justice must put an end to these shameful practices for the safety of patients across the country.” In the compelling 24-page BuzzFeed News article headlined, “INTAKE: LOCK THEM IN. BILL THEIR INSURER. KICK THEM OUT. HOW SCORES OF EMPLOYEES AND PATIENTS SAY AMERICA’S LARGEST PSYCHIATRIC CHAIN TURNS PATIENTS INTO PROFITS,”

The 24 page artical is here buzzfeed.com/rosalindadams/intake

I was treated so badly in this "hospital", its about time karma came around to these cockroaches running these places.

Here is anouther website, This site is dedicated to all the people who were harmed or killed in UHS facilities. they speak for those who have no voice, to protect others from experiencing the pain they endured.  watchinguhs.wordpress.com/

I was a victim of Fort Lauderdale Hospital, this place really needs to be shut down along with all the other UHS abusive hellholes like it.

They could have killed me but I refused to take the huge amount of pills they ordered, this place is a living nightmare. Families, when your loved ones call with cries for help and complaints of being forced to take to much medication please do something ! Check this out, they killed a teen at Fort Lauderdale Hospital with drugs.

"A Tamarac mother sued Fort Lauderdale Hospital and a psychiatrist who worked there, saying they overmedicated her teenage son with a cocktail of mental health drugs — some of which have not been approved for the treatment of children.

The boy, Emilio Villamar, died of a sudden heart attack. He was 16."

I was in this wreched hospital and I saw how when people were over medicated and abused, I was one of them.

Beware of there doctor, Peter Ventre. He is abusive and also  lied on my medical records to justify extending my stay to make money for this snake pit of a hospital , I suggest everyone get a copy of there records and look for themselves.
