Four Star Realty Boulder Terrible Management Boulder Colorado
I have used Four Star to manage my property for the last two years. When they sold us on using them it sounded like a great company but they sure were wrong. Four Star has terrible management and communication and If I would have known I never would have paid them for their services.
First of all they collect rent from the tenants on the first of the month and owners do not see it in their banks until what should be the 25th of the month but is usually 3-4 days LATE. Rent always ends up being a different amount each month for no reason and really no explanation.
If you chose to use them to manage your property be sure to get everything in writing! When Dave first sold us on Four Star he insured us that twice a year they would have our bushes and lawn vegetation cleaned up for the season. When that never happened I asked about it and was told that since my home is a “newer” property (it is 5 years old) that the plants did not need it. As far as I am concerned plants grow and die seasonally and need to be taken care of regardless of age. They also charge ridiculous amounts for maintenance, for example $70 to flip a breaker (that gets charged to the owner).
I had several problems with them being very late with rent, not fulfilling obligations that they had outlined on their contract and not communicating at all with property owners. On one occasion rent was over one week late being deposited to me with no explanation at all. During my two years of using them I had several issues with them. Each time I complained I called or wrote the Branch Manager, Caldwell Sullivan. Not once did I hear back from him. None of my voice messages or emails were returned by him. I am very disappointed in Four Star and would not recommend them to anyone unless they want to be ripped off and have their property not well cared for.
