DO NOT RENT FROM FOX, ACE OR MEX WHEN IN MEXICO. We rented a car at Fox Cancun Airport. There was no rep waiting outside the airport doors to help guide us so it took a long time to figure out where the office was and drag all of our luggage to the office.
The first car they rented us had a faulty transmission which would cause the car to stall in major intersections. It also came with a half empty tank which is a common scam for Fox. After a lengthy argument with their reps they replaced the first unsafe car with the worst car in their fleet which was falling apart and didn't even have power windows. They knew we had a child seat with us and they brought a car with no safety hooks. Believe it or not, there's more.
Upon returning the car they tried to charge extra fees for damage even though I paid full insurance with no deductable. After talking my way out of yet another Fox scam they told me my $100 USD hold would be returned within 48hours. Surprise, weeks have gone by and I now have to call and email the company in hopes of getting my money back. They are such a bad company they probably need to steal my $100 to stay in business.
Summary, NEVER RENT FROM FOX, ACE OR MEX WHEN TRAVELLING TO MEXICO.
