Unfortunately, it is called "permissable purpose" and Fred Hanna & Associates are subscibers to the 3 major credit bureaus. You do not have to give someone permission to access your credit. They are also the worst kind of debt collector, known as scavenger debt buyers. Expect to be contacted soon regarding some old, probably time barred account. Do not talk to them at all on the phone. Do not give them any information at all. NOTHING! I have a current State of GA Bar Association Complaint against Fred Hanna for his blatant violations of Federal Law regarding the willfil violations of my rights under the FDCPA. He also took my credit information to 3rd parties who did not have permissable purpose, and I have filed those complaints too. Search on this board and on the internet like Yahoo or Google for Fred Hanna. You will be amazed that he is still in business.
