I have never been late on any payment of any type and have always had extremely good credit. My husband died suddenly and because it was a suicide I did not received any life insurance or social security benefits. I received nothing except a lot of debt. I went back to work after his death but it was part-time (all I could find) and because it was in real estate and the economy tanked, I was out of a job. I've been able to find another job that barely pays the rent, but at least its a job. I live week to week and I'm scared to death of being a middle-aged woman on the street. Frederick J. Hanna "& Associates" sends me letters threatening a judgement, they call all hours of the day and night, they've even called an ex-husband that has a different last name, lives on the other side of the country, and i haven't been married to for more than a decade.
I researched Hanna and found your website along with other complaints against them. On the BBB site, they have an unsatisfactory rating and it shows that Fred Hanna is the only person...there are NO associates. Which means, he's violating any kind of trust, not to mention laws I'm sure, by putting other "attorney" names on the letterhead. What can we do about crooks like this. If I had the money I would have definitely paid my credit card. Who knew I would ever be in this position of the horrible and shocking death of my husband, of losing a job that was once considered a stable workplace and now being hounded by people like Hanna. The Georgia Supreme Court says Hanna is a "law firm," so you have to submit a bar complaint vs. them (and not a consumer complaint with the state OCA or federal FCC -- but fine if you do that too anyway). You may submit a bar complaint vs. Fred Hanna (the owner of the "firm") and any atty. that may have contacted you that also violated bar rules for atty.s:
