Freedom Resource Aka Lenox Capital ripoff fraud business Woodstock Georgia
In November, 2002, I was contacted on the telephone by this company offering a bad credit repair program which offered a "guaranteed" credit card. I had just come out of a nursing home and needed to re-establish myself so I authorized a payment of $221.95 to be charged on 11/30/02. I have never received a packet of information. I have called innumerable times and told it was on the way.
After 120 days, I called and said that I wanted a refund. They sent me a Refund Form which I filled out and mailed on 3/23/03. I have tried to call since to verify that it was being processed -- after 5pm and before 10am, there is a recording saying I have reached customer service but to call back after 10am EST. When I do this, I get a busy signal -- not a regular busy signal but one similar to someone taking a phone off the hook. This never happened until I tried to get a refund.
I am on a fixed income and clearly could not afford this scam. Are there any legal steps that can be taken?
