My purse was left on campus for a few hours in one of the last weeks of November 2002. I cannot remember the exact date.

When my purse was recovered, nothing was missing but I still called my bank to let them know what had happened and I also asked them whether there was anything I could do to prevent any funds coming out of my account just in case anyone had recorded my account information.

The teller at my bank told me she could not do anything then, but to closely watch my statements for the next few weeks. The following week, I recieved a notice of automatic debit from my account in the amount of $221.95.

I had never set up anything to be debited automatically from my account and I was extrememely concerned.

Immediately, I thought of the day I had left my purse on campus. I called the bank unsure of what to do and all they could tell me was that Lenox Capital PPD, was the name of company that was listed for the automatic debit.

The bank teller told me to call Customer Service to get more information but I decided to do my research before calling them. I was astonished when I found three hits about "Freedom Resource and Lenox Capital" and that they were a rip off scam business.

My stomach dropped to the floor because I knew my money was gone and they still have my account number. Not only did my account information get taken by someone who looked in my purse but it got taken from a scam artist business as well.

My next step after filing this report is to go to my bank with the other reports I've seen as well as the ripp off information and proof about this awful scam.

I 've never been the type to fall victim to giving my information away on the phone but just as well I have become a victim of fraud.

BE CAREFUL. Now that the Holiday season is here scam artists are in full swing. Don't let this happen to you!
