A represenative called and made a offer for a credit card offer of $2500 with 0% intrest for the lifetime of the card. We set up the bank withdrawel on October 24th. The "benefits package" was to arrive between 15 to 21 buisness days.

I waited 24 days, and decided to call. I waited on line (long distance) for 1 hour and 15 minutes before a represenative came on line. They told me that it was a delay in processing that my package should arrive within a few days.

I waited an additional week. Nothing came in the mail. I placed another call and waited on the line 1 hour and 5 minutes before a represenative came on line. Was given the same excuse.

I made 2 more calls after this with the same results. I fianlly asked for a "Supervisor". I asked the "supervisor" to refund me my money electronically. She said that they could not do that. Even though that is how that got the money to begin with. She stated that they could send me a form to fill out to get a refund. She stated she did not advise that, and that she would get my "benefits package" out to me ASAP.

I placed another call to ask for the refund forms. Today is Tuesday, January 7, 2003. I have not recieved anything from them. They will not send me my money back eletronically, I haven't recieved this alleged form to get my money back, nor have I recieved this alleged form to fill out for this $2500 limit MasterCard with 0% intrest.

Guess What's In The "Benefits Package"?

By the way classmates, I am reading my "Benefits Package", it is such a JOKE!!! There is a cover letter thanking me for joining Freedom Resources. It gives me my username and password so that I can access my "account" at anytime. Suprise, Suprise, it does not work!!! It also states on my cover letter that I should be receiving my reservation form for my complimentary "STORED VALUE MASTERCARD". I repeat......"STORED VALUE". This is not an invitation to get a MasterCard with a limit of $2500. They are not lying when they say that there is a 0% intrest rate, because guess what, there is no intrest rate on a Pre-Paid MasterCard. You can save $221.95 and surf the internet or check some of your local drug stores, or shopping centers and purchase a Pre-Paid MasterCard for approx. $10.00 plus activation of about $25 - $60. Some places the Card is free. They claim that they tell us that it is a Credit Card with a credit limit. They fail to mention how to get the $2500 limit. It comes out of your pocket. Also in my "Benefits Package" there are coupons to fill out and mail in for the following: Discount hotels, 100 rolls of film, $500 in grocery coupons, legal services (yeah right), movie tickets, flowers, eyewear, and other things not worth mentioning. Nothing that you can't find in your local Sunday newspaper or by searching the internet. So for those of you that may actually get the opportunity to read this BEFORE giving them your account number, let me save you $221.95. Buy yourself a Sunday newspaper and/or search the internet. Also check out some of your local stores for Pre-Paid Credit Cards. They are available for much less than $221.95. And to my fellow classmates, I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the features in your "Benefits Package" since chances are quite high that you may never get the opportunity to actuall see one. Best of luck to all of you on getting your money back!!!

I Finally Got A Refund

Hello fellow Freedom Resource Nightmare "Classmates"!!! Refunds are possible believe it or not. I e-mailed everyone I could possibly think of to get some help with this situation. I am in Alabama, so I'm not sure if this will work with the rest of my classmates or not but it can't hurt to try. My resolution came from the State Of Alabama Office of the Attorney General. I am not sure as to what the Consumer Specialist did that handled my case but I received a letter from her office along with a letter from Freedom Resources on today (02-06-03)with a CHECK for the $221.95 they ripped me off for. To add insult to injury, they had the nerve to send the alleged "Benefits Package" also. By the way, the "Benefits Package" just looks like a bunch of coupons that you get out of a Sunday Newspaper. I hope this information can help someone else. For those of you in Alabama, you may want to try and contact Rhonda Lee Barber, Consumer Specialist @ 334-242-7320. Good Luck!!! P.S. I am on my way to the bank, I hope that this check is some good!!!! I may need to go to a check cashing place just in case!!
