FREEDOM SALES, INC. RIP-OFF / SCAM - MAGAZINE SALES DOOR-TO-DOOR- SOLICITATION HOUSTON Texas
On December 1, 2012, a person who named himself "Will Jones" knocked on our door selling magazines - he said he had been in trouble and was trying to 'start a new life' by selling these magazines to help his family (family photos and all...) to make a profit working for Freedom Sales, Inc. out of Houston, TX. He had legitimate (pre-stamped) multiple-copy order forms with contact info, which looked legitimate. I ordered four different magazine subscriptions (totalling over $100) and wrote a personal check for the correct amount made out to 'Freedom Sales, Inc.' - I never saw the magazines! When calling the number, it has a menu (i.e., for Customer Service, press 1), etc. and left messages but no one responded back. In searching the company name, I see I am not the only one who has been scammed, and that this scam includes many other states in the US! Sad, that in trying to help someone else, you yourself get ripped off! LESSON LEARNED... Do not buy anything from anyone when they come to your door!!
