FRIEND FINDER charging my credit card for renewal of alt.com web site. I did not renew. it is the second time. Boca Raton Florida
Dear Alt.com
I signed for a 3 month gold account on Oct. 3, 2008 to be valid until Dec. 31, 2008. I did not sign or request, or click for an automatic renewal. Then, according to my bank statement, on Dec. 16th, 2008 FRIEND FINDER [ALT.COM] debited my credit card for 19.95$. I did not receive an email notice for that.
Then on Dec. 31, 2008, FRIEND FINDER [ALT.COM] sent me notice that they had renewed my account for 29.95$. I had never done that and when I wrote you on Jan. 3rd, 2008, they acknowledged this and credited my account for the 29.95$.
At this time I still didn't know about their billing me on Dec. 16th, 2008, as I was traveling.
Now on Jan. 16th, 2009, I see from my banking statement that FRIEND FINDER [ALT.COM] have again debited my account for 19.95$. FRIEND FINDER [ALT.COM] also did not inform me by email that they had made this debit.
The following are the debits and credit dates:
1. Oct. 3rd, 2008 59.97$ paid for a 3 month Gold membership, to expire Dec. 31st, 2008.
2. Dec. 16th, 2008: 19.95$ [debit]
3. Dec. 31st, 2008: 29.95$ [debit]
4. Jan. 8th, 2009: 29.95$ [credit]
5. Jan. 20th, 2009: 19.95 [debit]
This is a total of 40.00$ debit.
I would like to have some clear guidance about this. I have just done all of my book keeping and found these problems. I have written FRIEND FINDER [ALT.COM] today. Should I wait for a reply? Should I file a complaint with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)?
Hoping someone has some familiarity with this kind of situation.
