Ft. Lauderdale Mitsubishi Surprise Balloon Payment Fort Lauderale Florida
In the fall of 2001 I heard about Mitsubishi's offer to buy a car with no payments for one year. I went to Fort Lauderdale Mitsubishi on Sunrise Blvd to check it out.
The monthly payments were too high for my liking for this program, so I opted to buy a new car with payments beginning the following month instead.
I specifically told the salesman, several times, that I did NOT want a balloon payment. He assured me that would not be the case. I took his word for it.
One year later while undergoing a credit check, I found out that my car loan had a $6,000 balloon payment. I called Mitsubishi and was told that I signed the paperwork and that there was nothing they could do. I checked my paperwork, and sure enough, the Truth In Lending showed it. Had I known about the balloon payment, I NEVER would have bought the car.
A word of advice to anyone buying a car with Mitsubishi-the salesman will tell you whatever you want to hear, even if it's a lie. Make him show you on the paperwork where it proves what he says!
