Same story, different day... although I'm not in the medical profession. I started with Howard W. Bernett and purchased several works from 1997 to 2000, all done by the same artists mentioned in previous reports. I'm interested in art and thought it made sense to diversify.

Almost all of my holdings were always in 1st or 2nd place to "sell" but never did. There was always some excuse why they weren't moving and exciting stories about why I should be buying more. I suspected that I was being taken and when I stopped buying, he stopped calling and did not return my calls. My only consolation at the time is that I actually liked the majority of the pieces and even hung some of them up.

Imagine my surprise (after 8+ years) when I got a voice message from Nick Poulos (apparently they also change their names) stating that my portfolio had "just landed on his desk" after I was "lost in the shuffle" and he was anxious to "sell" my pieces "quite soon".

I did a bit of digging on the Internet and found this site so I thought I would share the "experience". I would love to be part of a class action suit but it looks like the Canadian BBB may just be on their payroll.

I would also love to know the details of Maria's settlement.

To Steve from Kokomo:

I've tried 2 times to post a response here that included a reference to my email address, but obviously its getting censored.  I'm really beginning to think that the only thing the owner of this site cares about is building traffic so he can sell ad space.  I written to ED so many times and have NEVER received a response.

So if at all possible can you just post the news that you were referring to? Might as well put it here so other victims can benefit.

Thanks.

I am 1 of these victims and I cannot find out how to contact anybody using Ripoff Report. they take off email addresses and telephone numbers so no 1 knows who you are. Tell me how we should contract each other, i have news to share.

To Bertnett Bad Boy - let us know how to contact you to get more information.  I have my own complaint on file here and have tried contacting the staff at ripoffreport many, many times in the past regarding how to get in touch with other victims, but they've never returned a single email.

I was amazed to see this website, where the people I have heard my brother-in-law gloating about at family dinners have come forward.  I am so sorry to hear about all the misery he has caused.  If there is a class action suit, I am willing to be a witness.  I was at his pool parties meeting all the sales reps and owners, and yes, they did laugh all the way to the bank.  Many of them continue to rip people off - the names change but the ripoffs remain the same.

I spent years trying to convince my husband's brother to stop, but the way he was living was too exciting to him.  Karma did bite him in the rump, if it makes you feel any better.  He is now divorced, poor, and a real shlump.  Now he is conning the Rabbis in Montreal, hiding behind his new facade - that of an orthadox Jew.  He went from conning Nuns out of their life savings to sculking around with the Lubavitchers and they have no interest in the truth.

I can provide any information that is legally requested for any lawsuits.  I and my children heard and saw a lot in those years.  It is not too late to get organized.  There are thousands of you.  Good luck.  You all worked to hard for your money to let this one go.

I cannot go into too much detail here, but there are many family members of all these guys in Montreal that were sickened by their behavior and would feel better putting things right.  One small victory if you people organize yourselves.  It is a very small community here, and many people knew what they were doing to our neighbours in the States.  Go for it.  Don't let these guys keep you 8th in the line - push in!

Any moron can write a rebuttal to these complaints, including the fraudster. Come-on people wake up. Howard's pulling your leg and laughing all the way to the bank.

In reading your rebuttal, I am interested to see if you had any resolution from this in any way. Nick was my broker and I was given the runaround for several years... Did you get any of your money back or not? thanks.

Encouraging response to past issues

#10Author of original report

Sun, January 04, 2009

Well, after several conversations with Nick it appears to me that he is genuinely interested in addressing my concerns about my past experience with Galerie Concorde and my previous broker. While he couldn't explain why my portfolio sat idle for almost 8 years he didn't make any excuses either. His stated commitment is to get things back on track. While understandably upset with my posting a report here prior to speaking with him (my apologies Nick) I was provided some interesting information (which I verified independently) about this site. But, what's done is done. It's often said comments made in haste out of frustration can be regrettable. My current perception of Galerie Concorde is that they are willing to work to resolve any issues and do what they can to keep their customers satisfied. Bottom line - If you want an opportunity to right your perceived wrongs with this company contact your broker or, contact the company and ask that your account be reassigned to another broker. You have everything to gain.
