Garrett Ardell Leatham owes me $206.20 for an unused airline ticket he asked me to purchase for him to fly from Utah to California. I first met Garrett Leatham in late 2008 or early 2009 when he moved to Chino Hills with his mother and siblings . I tried to be a good friend to him as it seemed he didn't have many if any, though in hindsight he never reciprocated my friendship. It shoudl have been clear he was just using me to fix his computer, buy him work clothes, take him out to eat, show him around town.. he didn't care about me, it was a free ride and a way to get away from his family.
Throughout the years I would reach out to see how's he's doing sometimes he would respond with condescending pejorative comments or insults, telling me " you're one of billions" and most times he would outright ignore me, like he's doing now for months I've been asking for a refund. Sometime in late 2015 after finally realizing his attitude toward others and misanthropic diatribe had gotten worse over the years, not better, I decided at that point to sever communication entirely and stopped contacting him.
January 2, 2016 driving back from the northwest Garrett emailed asking how my holiday was. It was nice to hear from him so I responded and the communications resumed. Garrett told me he wanted to come to California for a week or so to see if he could consider living here again. When asking where he should find the best tickets Garrett reminded me a few years prior I told him if he wanted to come to CA I would send him an airline ticket... He asked me to send him a ticket, and pay for it, since I made a prior statement I would, I acquiesced and purchased a ticket for the days he was able to take off February 3rd- February 9th.
I was SO excited to see him, an old friend and a crush, I made plans myself to take time off work and went to some expense to accommodate him along with purchasing food I don't eat. Wednesday February 3, 2016 an hour before the flight Garrett emails me to tell me he's not coming and "maybe you can come to SLC next time". I was crushed then I emailed him that he lost a friend today, I am done being his friend and he needs to reimburse me the airline ticket fee of $206.20 and included my mailing address. I have waited several months with no refund.. I work hard for my money and don't like feeling taken advantage of......!
