I've been using Gates Service center for the last several years. My cars have have all been well maintained and I've found the Gates family to be honest and reliable. I wish they were less expensive but I also think one gets what one pays for and I do get top notch service. I really feel like I've found a service center I can trust and they have not disappointed me. It sounds like Glenn's uniform purchase timing may have been unfortunate but even I as a customer was aware that the owners were contemplating getting out of the gas business. I'm sorry things did not work out for him as an employee but personel issues are not really Rip Off report germain.

I was in Gates Chevron dozens and dozens of times when Glenn was working. He always had a book from the library with him and was frequently reading on the job. He was a cashier and although the station was sometimes busy with customers paying bills, a far greater amount of time was available for Glenn to read his books and chat with customers or other employees. The Gates people talked about getting out of the gas business for months before it actually happened. What is Glenn talking about? I would have thought him more honest and dignified than to stoop to writing this kind of garbage, just because he left the company under less than happy circumstances. Likewise, I have used the company for repairs for about 18 years and only once or twice every had anything I would call a problem. Even those problems were corrected promptly and courteously. This kind if whining ex-employee report undermines the credibility of the Rip-Off Report. It certainly does not reflect the true quality of Gates Chevron.

As a long term patron of Gates Chevron, I find these claims to be unwarranted. I have always found that the mechanics and owners were not only knowledgable, but go out of their way to assist customers in anyway possible. I have personally sent dozens of people to them, always having an overwhelmingly positive experience. I have had not only my vehicle worked on there, but also countless friends and family members. Not one of those experiences was negative. I have witness countless times where they have helped people off of the street for no monetary gain. I cannot stand when an honest, reputable place is trashed by what is obviously a disgruntled former employee. I came across this while on the internet and felt compelled to sign up and respond due to the outlandish accusations. In this day and age, when so many unreputable, places exist, I hate to see one of the honest ones have their stellar reputation attempt to be tarnished by angry former employees. I will not only continue to be a customer, but also to send anyone there who needs a mechanic, because I know 100% that they have always been upstanding.
