I was a pedestrian struck by a Geico Policy holder, I filed a claim and was told How concerned they were, that they would pay any medical bills, and wanted to settle ASAP, I have incurred numerous bills, have yet to collect anything. I could not afford to go to the hospital for an MRI, and they set up payment arrangements up with University Hospital and still have not paid after 10 months.

Now my credit has been hurt and I am constantly forking out money for office visits, test, and medicine, only to find out that I will have to have a back operation to fix my back. Laurie in claims reassured me that they would settle ASAP, It has almost been a year and nothing. I have had to retain a lawyer to sue.

Geico did an investigation and ruled their insured was at fault and they said they would pay the claim. Liars. I live with back pain, sleeping problems, and struggle with minor task. The insured only has minimum coverage so its not like I am seeking a lot of money. The $25K in coverage will not even touch an operation not to mention all of the cost involved with this.

I have missed many days of work and the quality of life I once had, and they have yet to settle this. I will live with problems the rest of my life.

I was a struck pedestrian by their insured!

Geico and its claims office are Liars, and I hope you are not involved in a claim with them.

The limits that are listed on the policy are just that the limit.. the most that can be paid.. some people have very high liability limits for situations like this.. Honestly you are going to have to file suit against the person that hit you and have a judgement issued against them for the remaining amounts you are requesting. Secondly a bodily injury claim, which is what you filed, is paid in a lump sum once the claim is settled not in incriments unfortunately. Now if you have Medical Payments or Under Insured Motorists coverage on your policy you can use that also to take care of your bills. Your coverages are always available to you from your own policy even if it's not your fault. I hope this helps

Their insured only paid them for $25,000 in coverage and that is all they are going to pay. You have to go after the person who hit you (personally) and sue them for the rest. The insurance company did nothing wrong.

Sorry to hear the stuff that you had to go throug. From what I read, I assume that GEICO paid you 25k. Unfortunately if the person that hit you only carried the state minimum, by law, that's all the insurance company has to pay. Put yourself in the other direction, if you had hit someone and you were carrying the minimum and you are paying the insurance premuim for the miminum coverage, why would you expect your insurance company to pay more? Now if GEICO didn't pay out the minimum, I can see why you would be angry, but if they had already paid the 25k and that's all the driver was insured for, that's all they have to legally pay.
