I moved from CA to CO in July and got my vehicle registered on July 31st. My existing GEICO auto policy would expire on Aug. 11, so I called GEICO on August 5th for a quote for Colorado. The same day I got the quote I bought insurance from another company (and saved $400). The following week GEICO sent me a bill for insurance I never ordered. I threw it out. They kept this up every month until November, and I kept throwing it out. Then they turned me into a collection agency. The address I have is Texas, but this all happened in Colorado. I should have taken their bills more seriously, but why should I when I never agreed to buy what they say they sold me?

We noticed problems wiht geico the last couple eyars and whenw e received our renewal policy and a higher risk rate, we went through the roof. Geico stated a new statistical analysis of our 2004 GMC pickup truck shows it a high risk vehicle for our region which makes no sense! We have no tickets, no lapses, no problems and decent credit yet we are now told me must pay higher risk premium in NC because of our used truck?? This makes no sense. Also, reading your post, I will say anyone who looks for quotes off the internet or on phone from any insurer, your credit report WILL get pinged and your score will be reduced several points each time this occurs. Also, NOBODY can repair your credit except you as the person under your social security number. And if GEICO pulled a slick move on you and now you are in colelctions, this also hurts your credit badly for 7 years minimum and soon to go to 10 years in new credt agency overhauls they are trying to implement. You need to be aware that when using the internet, you need to be careful, as there may be verbiage soemwhere stating if you click on their site to make a selection or inquiry for information you basically have given written permission to the vendor for a product which is what Is uspect happened with you and GEICO..

Isn't it against the law for a credit repair company to charge fees BEFORE doing the work? The website asks for fees upfront before any action is taken by your company. Seems to me this is what got Hargrave & Associates in trouble with the FTC

I know how to get that item off your credit report.

Hello, I work for a credit repair company who deals with collection agencies every day. By law a collection agency is a third party and can only attempt to collect a debt. However, they annoy the hell out of you. ( phone calls, letters, threats, and putting the item on your credit report in negative standing.) What I do is actually remove these items from the credit report. If they are not removed the item can stay on your credit report for 7 years. Check out my website. www.beaconcreditrepair.com My name is Jessica if interested my number is (((ROR REDACTED))). I can help you get started.
