Gem Shopping like every other jewelry dealer offers GIA reports on everything they sell. The reports can cost at times over $500, so they are usually optional. If a report is immediately available then the vendor they purchased the item from already had a report done. Otherwise, you have to pay extra money and wait for two months for the report to come in. I only reccommend GIA reports on diamonds to make sure no funny business is going on. On colored gemstones a good gemologist can detect just about anything and everything.
