Fist of all i am not here to badmouth GM,i have owned GM all my life , and to say i will never own one again i would be telling you a lie i have leased a 2000 chevy ck2500 4WD ext. cab and a 1999 Tahoe both are still under Warranty , and have been seviced at the dealer every 3000 miles .

The first problem is the 2000 silverado at 10,600 miles i was coming home and the oil light came own i thought it was a faulty light ,got home checked the oil it was 3 quarts low ,and i still liked 1000 mile having 3000 mile on the last oil change , i immeadiately i called the dealer they said bring it in they would run a oil consumption test and it is using oil 2 quarts or better depending on how much you run it on the interstate,.

I told the dealer this was unexceptable i would like a new vehicle they said no this is normal i say bull, also my engine pecks and rattels when you first start it up, it has had to have 2 or 3 driver side window assembleys motor and regulator and it is acting up now ,it has also had to have a waterpump new belts and pulleys on 2 times and if it rains tonight you can hear me coming a mile away till it dry out and when your are running aprox 60 mph wind leaks in around the front window.

They had convinced me the oil problem was normal i new different but me against Big old GM, so i decided to drive it and not purchase it at the end of the lease, the in april we were coming home from florida vacation with the kids , and my mother and the rest of the family behind in there car when the motor blew up in her Tahoe it threw a rod right threw the block all the oil run out on the interstate they put a new motor in at Dan Vaden Chevrolet in Savanah GA. they had it for approximately 3 weeks 2 weeks after we got it back i got in it started it up the lifters went crazy it was running on about 4 cylinders smoking it sounded like it was going to blow up again took it back they put a plug in # 7 cylinder said it was fixed but i knew better.

I checked the compression myself because it does not have the power it did with other motor i found the compression not to be same in 3 of the cylinders, then we were driving home one night and raw gas smell all through the vehicle had it checked they found nothing and then 8/13/01 my wife said when she started it up that morning to go to work it was like some on opened the door a threw a gallon of gas inside for about 10 minutes.

At this point i have decided these 2 vehicles are seriously defective and the on could be very harmful to my familys health i only will except customer satisfaction and that is to repurchase these 2 defective vehicles.,attached is a letter i sent certified to GM and GMAC.Keith E. Cole

To Whom It May Concern:

2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO:

I am writing to advise you that the following vehicles currently in my possession are defective. One of which I am greatly concerned is not only a safety hazard, but also a health hazard.

The VIN # is 1GCGK29UXYE222554 and the GM file# is CO3918506. The problems started on 6/12/2000 and the purchase date was 1/28/1999. The problems include the vehicle using 2 3 quarts of oil every 3000 miles, and the window motor assembly having to be replaced 3 times as well. The vehicle has been to the dealer for an oil consumption test where they confirmed the problem. Today, once again, the window would not roll down, so it is clear there is a manufacturing defect.

The 1999 Tahoe (VIN# 1GNEK13R8XR150662 GM file# C03915117)was purchased on 11/29/1999 . This vehicle also has a serious defect because the engine blew this past April. Even though the engine was replaced under warranty, the vehicle continues to omit strong gas orders in the passenger compartment and the engine light comes on frequently. I feel that exposing myself and family to gasoline odors is an indication of a severe safety issue that must be addressed immediately.

I have been loyal to the GM family of automobiles and now it is your turn to be loyal in return. It is clearly evident that I have fallen victim to the purchase of two absolutely flawed vehicles. I am requesting for GM to repurchase the vehicles and release me from any contract and/or financial obligation with regard to the above-mentioned automobiles. It is the right thing to do and I am confident that you will make the right decision. Retain a loyal customer and prove your commitment to customer service.

Kindest Regards,
