George Doganis moved to New York sometimes in 2013. I met him through mutual friends in the spring time of 2014. He was looking for a job as a home impovement contractor. I hired him to build closets in my bedrooms and I was paying him daily labor of $180 a day for him and another $180 for his co-worker George so we could finish fast.
The verbal agreement was that I would provide all materials and supplies due to the fact that he had no credit at the time. During the process the bedrooms became unlivable and I decided it was the right opportunity to remodel my bathroom as well, new tiles and plumbing features. He worked for 2 weeks straight and completed the major work. When we got to the point to finish the details such as grouting the tiles, cleaning etc. He told me that he got another job in the meantime and he will be coming to complete my job after hours; Since he gave me no other option we agreed to continue paying him by the actual hour he worked.
Because my house was unlivable at the time I had my wife and 3 children to move out of the house for the duration of the job. He came to work 3 days after his other work for a total of 6 hours. Everytime he was here he was making more mess and than actual work. I think his clothes had more plaster than my walls. Everywhere he walked in the house plaster and other building materials was left all over. When I finally confronted him to clean after his mess. His reaction was to clean it myself because all day I was seating in my a*s doing nothing. I told him that he had no right to talk to me like that and the he was actually working for me since I was paying him. He walked out on me and never came back. He never completed his job and left the house a big MESS.
Every morning I was making him breakfast for him and his co-worker and buying him lunch. At the end he left me and called me several names as well.
I also found out that in the 80's and 90's he was taking deposits from people to do construction work and never showed up, he moved to Greece. When he returned from Greece sometimes in 2013 he was saying that he wasn't the same person any more because now he had a wife and a child and he convinced me to help him work so he could pay his rent since he was unemployed at the time. I guess some characters do not change.
I forgot to mention that when he left furious he made damages to granite shaddles.

fact number one how can you rip some one off when they are paying you on a day to day basis
fact number two why did you not stop me if i was making your house a mess like you state
fact number three you have no contract sighned by me because you wanted to be the contractor and me your worker
fact number four i asked you to hire a helper to help with cleaning and carying materials but you were complaining about money being tight not only did i save you $10,000 on renovations in your bathroom alone you asked me to plaster three bed rooms and paint them as well you state that i worked for only six hours a day how can you possibly work for six hours a day and complete full demolition of a bathroom do framing install cement boards level floors install ceramic tiles skim coat plaster and paint walls and oh i forgot do all the cleaning every day ,the truth is Mr.Elias you said you would help with the cleaning
your wonderfull kids and your wife witch i respect very much were vacationing in Greece and after the renovation you joined them
the reason i did not grout your bathroom is because you never payed me the money you owed me from the week before and because your brother in law who is my friend introduced me to you i did not report you to the labor department
in your report you forgot to mention that you did the job without the notification of the building deoartment or with insurance so if i was going to get hurt (who cares)
as far as the supposed associate you hired him yourself and the icing on your completly bogus cake if you know that someone is a thief you hire him any way?
some one like me worked for you you did not pay me the last week you owed and you lied publicaly to scre potential custommers away so i dont make a living as a human being working for others ,WOW !
