Gibson Trust ...ripoff Scam Company
I had excellent credit until I decided to let Gibson Trust help me. I was assured their service would not affect my credit report whatsoever. They never told me that they would hold my first payment. I gave them $497.00 which I was supposed to get back when I fulfilled my contract agreement. In August of 2000 I received a letter stating they sent proposals to my creditors. In October of 2000 the creditors had received nothing. I stayed with this company until November of 2001 when I paid all of my creditors off. I was sick and tired of the untimely payments and service--if you can even call it service because I received NONE. I requested that my initial payment be returned to me which was "guaranteed". They were unable to approve my refund due to the fact that they "worked extensively on my account and the hours spent contacting creditors, faxing and making long distance calls (they all have 800 numbers!!) were an expense to them. Ninety percent of their cost of setting me up in a debt management program is incurred in the first month." I am seeking legal advice...I can live without the $497.00 but I can't live with the fact that this company is taking advantage of people who are desperately seeking assistance in a time of need.
