Six months ago I was looking to make a side income by opening a small business. We were also looking to buy a water filtration system for my house. Distilled water seems to be the best way to go, so we contacted Glacier as their systems had pretty good reviews. After discover the cost of the systems was $3650 through them we tried to get a better deal. It turns out they will sell you 10 systems for $10,000 and you can become a dealer. I decided, this was PERFECT for my new side business.



I purchased ten system which came out to $11,000 with tax and shipping. It took awhile but I finally sold a few units. The third unit I sold was to a guy in connecticut. He told me that he had opened his sytem to inspect it, and that it was full of rust. He sent me pictures to show me. This system carries a lifetime warranty on its stainless steel components and a 2 year warranty on everything else.



I contacted to glacier and told them that what my customer had found. They then told me that they probably would not honor the warranty because the customer had opened the system. Now in the users manual it SAYS to open the unit once or twice a year to clean it,... so you tell me my customer opening the unit when he got it voided the warranty.



My customer paid the shipping and returned the system for warranty. The company said they steam cleaned the inside and that it was okay now and wanted to return it to him. My customer obviously doesnt want the steam cleaned system back as it will just rust again, he wants his warranty honored.



Today I recieve an email from a potential customer of mine who I have been dealing with for a week with answering questions and helping her out. She tells me that she contacted Glacier for some more information. Glacier told her that she should not buy a system from me because they probably wont honor the warranty that comes from my systems because they may have been opened. I paid $11,000 to buy ten systems from this company to resell as a dealer of theirs, and then they badmouth me to my potential customers and tell them that they wont honor THEIR warranty on the systems I sell.



The owner of this company is renowned for his horrible ethics, rudeness and bad business dealings. Please report any misfortunes you may have had in dealing with Glacier. I have filed a report with the BBB and hopefully if enough people come foward we can put can put and end to how this company and its owner does business.

This situation has been remedied to both parties satisfaction. I was not made aware of Glacier's selling guidlines and policies before my purchase of stock. They do not alow their units to be sold on ebay, or an publicized underselling price of less than a certain amount to be posted. Unaware of these conditions, I was selling the unit in a manner that was not in accordance of their guidelines. As such, they had terminated me as a dealer and revoked my warranties.

In the end, we agreed that I would return my remaining stock at the cost I paid for it. Units have been returned, payment has been recieved. Both parties are satisfied. On a side note, I have been using one of the systems for 6 months now, and it works beautifully. Aside from my one customers complaints, I have had no others.
