My wife and I called Protect My Glass to do our house. She saw their van at the dollar store and took down their number. We wanted window tint for our house so we called them. A short pugy fellow showed up and gave us two choices, a light grey and a reflective silver type film. This is as he said they had is stock, but its the best products he contended.
The pricing was nine dollars per square foot. Another guy Craig or Greg came in without removing his work boots and proceeded to measure up the front living room windows. He didnt even ask permission, he just said excuse me and pulled out a measuring tape. I said that I have all the measurements and he said I didnt know how to measure glass.
All we wanted was a price quote not an invasion. We had Dean the Apex Tinter come over and he was a joke, so my wife called 3M and they were not much better but 3M is a good name. His pricing was very high so reluctantly we went with Protect My Glass.
Joe and his wife Dian came, sprayed water everywhere saying that dust rolls up from the hardwood floors, so to keep dust down they need to spray everywhere. My wife was so upset.
They installed the tint and Joe the window tint installer was boasting how they did the job in record time.
Not 3 days later and the tint began to roll back from the top. Our front living roll window is 10 feet off the ground and all along the top the tint rolls back by three feet. I called Protect My Glass and called and called and no one came back out. They cashed the cheque and that was the last we have seen of them.
My wife who is 4 months pregnant with our first child got up on a ladder and scotched taped the tint all along the top. We had to do the same on 9 other windows.
We should have went with 3M, if Scotch Tape holds up Hanita Solar Zone tint then maybe Joe should take a hint. 3M is a far better window tint from the reviews on the InterNet.
It was after all of this that I went on line to see what kind of reputation Protect My Glass has and I was shocked. Everything that is said there is true, these guys are creepy, and money hungry. They were not even finished with the last window that they were already demanding for payment.
The Italian (mafia wannabe) looking guy offer to come back and do my car for cash but he said not to tell his boss. I couldnt believe what was happening.
The lack of information on their website says it all, these people at Protect My Glass deal with Hanita Coatings, Madico and whatever they can sell ya, even the cheap crap that we have. It is obvious that
Protect My Glass have something to hide. I read somewhere that they even have a sex offender working for them, my god if my wife saw this she make me sell the house and move.
THIS IS A FAIR WARNING TO ALL, Protect My Glass IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED. and Madico and Hanita Coatings must be in on it, maybe some should look into his background. These guys operate under three names:
