Glen Roberts Attorney At Law No contact by attorney after collection of retainer and signed agreement ripoff Rancho Santa Fe California
My company was ripped off for over $40,000 by an internet marketing company (Ellipsis Inc.) in 2005. (Ellipsis, Inc. later changed their name and subsequently filed chapter 7). I was contacted by an unknown individual via email who was supposedly also ripped off. I was referred to an attorney Glen Roberts, who after multiple discussions and emails asked to represent me in a class action lawsuit against Ellipsis and its owner Mark Nichols. (Mark is currently in chapter 7 BK to avoid multiple lawsuits and creditors).
After quickly forwarding to my attention an agreement with a $2,000.00 retainer request, and asking me to return signed agreement and check via Fed-Ex; Glen Roberts has not provided one single letter, or communication to update or discuss progress. I sent the original agreement, signed and dated, along with a check for $2,000 on March 29th, 2005. I have made numerous atempts to learn of any progress or filing of the "supposed class action suit", with no response from Glen Roberts.
I recently contacted a trustee for the court handling Mark Nichols BK-7 regarding this matter and have found no lawsuit filed on my behalf or my name or company listed as a creditor. Apparantely I have been taken for an additional $2,000 as the word from others concerning Ellipsis is that Glen Roberts may have been hired by Mark Nichols or his cronies to "represent" those seeking damages in order to garner any and all information against him and his company. How clever. Now thats a rip-off report.

Lawyers are ethically obligated to keep a client reasonably advised of progress in his or her matter, and to respond to client communications. If you feel your attorney hasn't responded to your phone calls or attempts to contact him, then contact the California Bar at 1-800-843-9053 to file a complaint. I'm not saying your allegations are or are not founded, but if you want resolution to this matter, and you're not satisfied with what you're getting from your attorney, then you really should call the Bar.
