EXPLORE THE WORLD/GLOBAL COMPANY CHEATS ELDERLY WITH CREDIT CARD SCAM .....
This company contacted my 78 year old mother and talked her into giving them her credit card number for a vacation package. She immediately felt she made a mistake and contacted the credit card company, Providian, and they sent her a dispute form.
The travel company or whatever business they profess to be, sent her a video tape and coupon book. The charge for this was $899.00. I personally took the merchandise to the post office and returned it by certified mail. We received the signed card back from the post office.
When contacted several times, the company refused to issue the credit or even respond to the returned merchandise. They then lied and told the credit card company that the merchandise was returned to the wrong address. I sent them another certified letter and they called me and don't understand why the credit card company didn't issue the credit, asked me to fax a copy of the information from the post office, and have since failed to respond to additional faxed messages.
This company has no intention of issuing a credit, since they convinced the inadequate and uncooperative dispute department of Providian that the charge was legitimate. So an elderly woman has been taken advantage of by crooks and is expected to pay for something she clearly returned.
