Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I can't believe I got suckered. Last summer I was watching Sci-Fi and saw the Global Ad for a home based business. I had just inherited almost $40,000 which was more money than I had ever had before. Everyone told me to invest the money in a business where I didnt have to work for anyone (I worked at Radio Shack).

They told me the business ran itself. They would do everything for me. Just pick up the money and get in on the ground floor. A "Regional Coordinater" told me he had two prime locations where I could expect to make above average profits.

He promised to re-locate me for life if ever I wasn't making good profits. As soon as they got my $37,000 they tried to sell me more for $15,000 each "wholesale" because there were so many locations "chomping at the bit" for these machines.

After 3 months of calling them and getting the run around, delays and BS stories my machines sat in a storage shed I had to rent. I got so furious I hired a lawyer who told me he could recover my money for me if I paid him $2500. I had to actually get a cash advance on my credit card to pay the lawyer.

Finally, right around Christmas my lawyer tells me for $5000 more he could go to court in FL where he would have to file a motion for judgement against the company. He also told me the company would likely file bankruptcy which would prevent me from collecting a dime. He told me there were many complaints against the company. When I checked the BBB it checked as "satisfactory". Now it reads "unsatisfactory" "fail to resolve complaints". Then I find this nightmare has happened to more people than can be counted.

There is apparently no law against being stupid enough to invest in something that doesnt work. Everyone tells me that there's nothing I can do and that I'll never get any money back.

I still see their commercials on TV all the time and call them and hear them say how great it is and how much money everyone is making. How can they still be in business if so many are complaining and the lawsuits and the government prosecuting them?????

How is this possible that they will be selling this piece of crap tomorrow to more people who just fall for the BS???? Can someone explain this to me??????? After all this how are they still in business????!!!!!

If you know how to get our money back please email me at gnelson777 at aol dot com.

Piercing the corporate veil

#2Consumer Comment

Fri, May 20, 2005

You're pretty close, Rebecca, but not quite accurate. First, I've never heard of the corporate veil being "lifted," corporate veils are "pierced." But "lifted" does make alot more sense, doesn't it? The owners of a corporation will enjoy the protection of the status until a court decides to pierce the veil. They do not automatically lose the status as a result of fraudulent dealings. Two things have to happen before the owners will be held personally liable. First, the veil must be pierced. To do this a plaintiff must show that the owner incorporated for the purpose of shielding himself from foreseen liability. In other words, if the owner planned on defrauding people from the outset then the veil should be pierced. If the owners had good intentions from the outset, and later recognized the benefit of the corporate shield and began defrauding people, they could probably be held personally liable as well. If, however, the owners intended to run a legitimate business that ended up defrauding people through the acts of rogue sales agents or other parties, the veil will probably NOT be pierced because liability rightly falls on the corporation, not its owners. After the veil is pierced there will be further proceedings to determine whether or not the acts of the individuals merit judgment against them. If the first part works (piercing the veil), the second part will probably be a slam dunk. You must remember, however, that the DOJ is not there to help you get your money back. They may get an award for restitution but, ultimately, it is in your best interest to get YOUR OWN lawyer to ensure that everything is done right for you as an individual plaintiff. Hopefully the DOJ will get them shut down, but that is probably the most you should hope for from them. Good luck!

Incorporation Is The Shield I too get angry everytime I see one of those ads

I believe the reason they continue in business is because there are legal protections that shield individuals when a company is incorporated. I asked the Attorney for the DOJ why they are still able to advertise? The response was they are working on it. Keep in mind that the first indictment against someone at Global Resources was just filed February 18 2005. There should come a point when they can get an injuction against the company. Hopefully soon,I too get angry everytime I see one of those ads
