I am in the process of getting ready to be badly ripped off!  I just bought a 2002 chevy astro van on Monday 3/22/10 and the next day I heard clicking or "knocking" in the engine and the breaks are metal to metal, also 2 seatbelts are broken and the AC is not working.

The manager Rezza told me to bring it back and he'd take care of it and it's been there since 8am wednesday morning and I keep getting the run around about and lies about when it's gonna get done and "that they're waiting for parts".  After reading 10's maybe about 100 complaints from them online, I just know I don't want this van back and I want my money back and the right to purchase someowhere else.

I put 3 grand down and was going to complete the purchase price on Wednesday of $3,000 more!  Now, I am stuck without transportation and trying to get to the bank to draw the money out before they take the rest of me and my kid's income tax.

I feel like I've been taken advantage of, I was getting desperate due to looking at vans/suvs at other dealerships all day without luck, no transportation, and had 2 kids with me (a baby and a 5 yr old all by myself; can you imagine)  and saw something in my price range at gmf and felt that I had a fair dealer and they seemed so kind and nice.  They are such liers and I just need my money back.

I will keep everyone updated about what happens with this.

Lets see...

"the next day I heard clicking or knocking..."

"the 'breaks' are metal to metal..."  (by the way they are called BRAKES)

"2 seatbelts are broken"

"the AC is not working"

All are direct quotes from you.  Did you take this piece of junk for a test drive?  You said you were "taken advantage of", that's right!  You sure were and I'll bet you helped enable that by not having this car checked out by a mechanic.  But forget about that.  The engine knocks may or may not have been evident on a test drive but the other stuff was fairly obvious!

Next time when you buy a used car have it checked over by a mechanic FIRST.  If that mechanic finds problems and you still want the car then tell the dealer you will buy it when and only when its fixed and DO NOT give them any money!  If the dealer is reputable, they will want to know what is wrong and want it fixed whether or not you are the buyer.
