GoDaddy, in my opinion, has stolen my money.

I have an account, with GoDaddy, called "Cash Parking" which produces daily revenue, for myself, in the amount of pennies up to a few dollars.  Occasionally, the daily revenue is higher, such as $5. or $6 or up to $15.  I pay GoDaddy about $10 per month, as a fee, to belong to this "Cash Parking" venue that they offer.

Every day, I log-in to my CashParking account and view the revenue that I have earned for the previous day.  On January 7, 2010 I viewed my revenue statement, online, via my account at GoDaddy, & it indicated revenue of $13.65 for the day in question.  A week later, on January 15, 2010 that revenue from the 7th had disappeared.  The chart, in which I can view past earnings, now indicated the revenue of January 7th to be just under $3.

In essence, GoDaddy had conveniently deleted about $10.00 of revenue from my account earnings dated January 7, 2010... and gave no explanation.

I immediately called my assigned account executive at GoDaddy, but he was not available.  I then sent him an email & waited about one week, and received no reply from him.  During this waiting period, I called GoDaddy's normal support line & asked for help, & they referred me to contact their Cash Parking department, by email, at [email protected].  I did as they asked, and I received a reply from that department saying that my issue was not their jurisdiction.

Getting very frustrated, I called GoDaddy executive accounts, again, and asked one of their staff to help me.  He referred me back to [email protected].  When I told him that I had already done this, to no avail, he said he would escalate the matter to that department, internally, & he said that I would receive a reply, or solution, within 24 hours.  It has now been 2 days, or more, and I have not been contacted by anyone from GoDaddy.

From my past experience with GoDaddy, they do not make things right.  One year, they charged me a $10 monthly fee, for five months, in order that I may receive my revenue payments by paper check via postal mail.  When I contacted them to let them know that I had signed up, initially, for electronic payments, and that I had never asked for, nor authorized paper checks as my payment method, they refused to refund back to me the $50 that they had, in my opinion, "stolen" from me in ten dollar increments during a string of many months.  I complained often, and vehemently, but I never received a penny back of the money that was stolen from me.

If you want a company which will make things right, or do the right thing, don't use GoDaddy.  The sad news is that GoDaddy is probably the best registrar out there, and they probably make more money than the big oil companies, but if you want them to refund money that they have taken from you, in error, and/ or without justification, you can forget it.  It's not going to happen.  And while I can't force GoDaddy to do the right thing, at can, at least, warn others of my experiences, and about the arrogant behavior one can expect if they do business with GoDaddy.

Notice, on the attached SCREENSHOTS that the tall spike of $13.65 on the far right of the first screenshot (taken January 7 2010) disappears/diminishes to a small spike, of just under $3, on the second chart (taken on January 15 2010).

Mon, January 25, 2010

Today, I was contacted by the GoDaddy executive account representative, and was notified that there was a known revenue reporting error for the date (January 7, 2010) of which my complaint is regarding.

I also received a different email, which was sent to me from GoDaddy Advanced Technical Support.

This is the text from that email:

Thank you for contacting advanced technical support. We have received and examined your support request regarding your Cash Parking account showing inconsistencies in your revenue. This was caused by a reporting error on 1-06-2010.  The incorrect reported amount was $12.60 but we have corrected the report to show the correct amount of $.99 (99 cents).  I apologize for any confusion this may have caused in your reports.

Please contact us if you need further assistance.
