The Goen Seminars are nothing more than a lot of hype to get you into their meetings and sell you a lot of their overpriced vitamin/mineral supplements.

The first hour of the seminar the leader tells you about smoking (or weight-loss, whichever particular session you are attending), about breaking bad habits and substituting good ones. He has you do "grade-school" type exercises in a workbook. Just before the break, he tells about their vitamin and mineral supplements and strongly urges you to buy them during the break "so you won't be rushed when you are ready to leave." The cost of the "package deals" ranges from $150-$500.

After the break is the so-called hypnosis session, which doesn't even approach hypnotizing anyone. In fact, in our session, two attendees went to sleep and were snoring.

I have been disappointed and misled in other instances, but this, by far, has to be the worst!

Goen Worked for Me

I originally attended a seminar in July 2003. Since then I have lost 38 pounds. I went to the seminar with an open mind and I truly believe it worked for me. I listened to the tape as instructed and have listened to the tape a few times over the past year for reinforcement. I also attended another seminar in December and it was free with proof of attendance at the first. Neither time was I high pressured to buy any kind of supplement, and I bought nothing. In fact, the speaker made a point of noting that similar supplements are available at various stores. I highly recommend the Goen Seminars and I am waiting for them to return to my area. I have at least a dozen friends who want to try. I really think if you attend with a positive attitude it can help. I had nothing to lose except the weight!

Thought the Seminar Fine... I feel that the hypnosis is wearing off and want another dose

I assumed the vitamins and drugs would be a rip-off at the weight loss seminar that I attended, so I didn't buy them. I didn't feel any pressure to do so, either. Th gym I attend has many of the same kind of supplements, and I don't buy them there either. I have already experienced various supplements, found they didn't work, and don't look for a magic bullet any more. I did find some of the "science" in the lecture a bit sketchy. I've found the same at Weight Watcher lectures too. I was there for the hypnosis and figured the junk in the first hour was necessary to get to the hypnosis. It's been 6 months; I've lost 17 lbs. Not great, but better than I've done on my own. I like the reinforcement tape that is included. In fact, I just listened to it and found this site when I was looking for the Goen site. I want to see when they are doing another seminar in my area because I feel that the hypnosis is wearing off and want another dose. Why not? Once you've paid for one, the others are free providing you can still produce the work book which I can. I thought this seminar was better than any other weight loss program I have attended.

I went to a weight loss seminar almost 2 years ago. I lost 18 pounds in 2 months and kept most of it off. I did not purchase any extra products, and felt no pressure to do so. I have gained a few pounds back, but plan on using their guarantee to refresh my resolve. If I have a problem with them backing their guarantee, I'll be sure to write back. If you try this Weight Loss OR Stop Smoking approach, go with an open mind and try not to have a pessimistic attitude. It will be in your best interest. Good Luck!!

It has been almost two years since my last cigarette. I went to Goen's seminar with an open mind and enjoyed myself. I bought none of the supplements that were offered. I have not looked back since. Good luck to everyone interested in quiting. When you're ready, and excited about it, I highly recommend this course of action as a solution

I attended the weight loss seminar just a week ago and so far so good. As for the vitamins, no one in this seminar was forced or even talked into buying anything. I wasn't prepared to buy anything extra so I never even inquired about any "pills". I figured I could buy them at a local vitamin store. Those who did buy them did so for very little.(I watched thinking it was a scam just to get more money out of you) The particular gentleman who held this seminar was very professional and did not even attempt to push anything on anyone. In fact, as I was leaving I was thrown a free bottle of vitamins.

Goen is not all Hype

I personally do not believe Goen is all Hype. Almost three years ago they saved my life. I quit smoking painlessly and never looked back. Your comment that they are all about their vitamins is untrue. Currently the products they offer are available at all vitamin stores. Goen offers a completely differnt approach than just popping pills or slapping on a patch. Good luck to you I hope you are able to quit smoking and live a better life.
