Goodwill employees mark up prices so they can buy the item on their day off with their discount.

I recently went into several goodwill stores and could not believe some of the prices. I was then told by one of the employees that he doesn't understand why some of those people back there put these high prices on the items. He then said that some of them-when they see something they want they will put a high price on it so it won't get sold and they can buy it on their day off to use their discount.

When I was looking at some of the items that had store sticker price tags on them and goodwill would ask the same price or more.  I was going to buy some of those little light up houses for christmas, so I went online when I got home and found out that is what wal-mart is selling them for! These are used items and goodwill is asking the new price.

I was talking with a lady when I was at another store and she told me her son works for goodwill and he takes the stuff people donates and hoards it in his bedroom. He has so much stuff he has taken when he is working that you cannot walk in his room. She says he has some cool stuff because he checks it before he puts it out and takes home whatever he wants.

This is shameful, I used to be able to shop at goodwill and buy a vase for less than $5.00 and now they want more than $12.00.

Forget buying any clothing or shoes that are decent because they mark them up! I wanted to get a pair of shoes for my sister who is not working and raising 3 kids. The shoes I found were marked up $15.00 just because they had a designer name on them. This is ridiculous! These are used donated items and they are asking more than most people can afford. I left the store with nothing. This is happening in all the Iowa Stores I have visited all of them.

Employees taking items they want before putting them out on shelves. Employees making items up so they can have them on their days off. Employees hoarding beyond belief and nothing is done about it.

This is out of control. What about those who really need a coat to keep them warm, or shoes to cover their feet.. they can't even afford to shop at goodwill.  STOP DONATING YOUR ITEMS TO THIS SCAM COMPANY--how do you think they can afford to build a brand new store ..someone is making a profit-don't let them fool you!!!!
