Gramercy Bagels and Deli Stay away from this dirty game playing place. Delray Beach Florida
This is one place you shouldn't go. My wife and I went on a Sunday for lunch. The first thing my wife noticed is that the place was dirty. She does have sharper eye than me. Then the waitress comes over and says " We have the lunch special, buy one, get one free, just purchase 2 beverages and pay cash." So we said yes to this. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 teas. My wife ordered a half sandwich and soup, and asked the meat to be lean meat, and was told that would be $1.00 extra. So if you don't pay extra you get a fatty one. Incredible.
Then when it came, she found a grey hair in her sandwich. She spit it out and pushed her plate away. I asked her if she wanted to report it, and she said no, just get me out of here. I knew this pace was done already with her.
Then the worst part came. The waitress put the check down in one of those wallets. I wasn't finished eating, so I ignored it. About 10 minutes later she came back and asked if I put the money in it. I told her no, not yet. I thought that was annoying, but the worst was yet to come.
When I looked at the check, the waitress had not deducted the one sandwich as she promised. The bill was for $28.04. I called her over and reminded her of the buy one get one free offer she promised us. She said, " That's only Monday to Saturday, not Sunday. " I told her she told us of the offer, and that's why we purchased 2 beverages, we usually just order water. She said, " I'm sorry, it doesn't apply on Sunday."
At this point I wanted to go up to the manager and let him have it. The waitress lied to us to get us to order more food and beverages, then had the nerve to bill us the full amount for everything, ignoring what she promised us, and ignoring my complaint. My wife knows me, and when I start complaining I yell and curse, and she didn't want me going off in that place. My wife told me to just pay the bill and leave. I paid it alright, and left no tip at all. I left exactly $28.04 in that wallet. I handed it to that waitress, and when we walked out, she was standing there giving us a dirty look. Did she really think she was going to rip us off and I was going to tip her as well ? I don't think so.
By the way, if you go there, the waitress is white, in her 60's, and has shoulder lengh dyed red hair, just teased up from a beauty parlor.
