This isnt surprising. Turnover at this institution is widespread and growing because of the type of managers and assistant directors they have in place. Nearly all of them have ZERO postsecondary credentials and are in the positions they are in because they have just stuck around for years with no real inner drive to excel or move out of the fruitless capacity they serve in. Pete Martinez, for example who oversees the southeastern division (among others) that you speak of has his hands filled with a director out on maternity leave and an assistant director Ben people call him Gentle Ben because this f*cktard is in the assistant director position because he drank the most beers in his frat and most likely paid his professors to give him a worthless masters from Devry or Argosy or some other random. All the managers kiss his worthless a*s and that translates into poor management because what kind of manager is going to have a good day when Ben is the kind of guy you have to answer to and his sh*tty cubicle job is all you have to aspire to (in some cases) after ten plus years. *Shudder* no wonder you Southwest students are so frustrated. The turnover rate is suffering because the school is filled with worthless, incompetent morons selling a sh*tty product. Good luck with that.

I have been going to school for the majority of my life and therefore have been getting financial aid for a while. I have never heard of such. I was informed recently that in 10/10 they changed from an academic year to a borrower based system. I reported them to the Ombudsman she called me back after to speaking with Chris Linderson and she asked me about the borrow based system because she had no clue what Chris was talking about. That's funny because I was told by Paul Fernandez that it was the Department of Education that made the school switch to the borrower based system. I guess not. The turnover at this school is so ridiculous. I've had about four different financial aid counselors and five different academic counselors. As a undergrad at Georgia Southern University I had 1 financial and 1 academic counselor the duration I was there. And I never had any problems with my financial aid.

Many students are having a hard time with credit hours since GCU went to a 4 credit hour system. You must enroll in three classes to make your 12 hours per semester. I know they say that you can do one at a time and still be full-time, but it seems work out better if you enroll in 2 and then 1 to make your three classes per semester. You can still enroll in four classes per term, even though your advisor may tell you that you can't. Financial aid will pay for the third class if you have enough funding to cover. If they persist you can't just keep going up the ladder. Hopefully my last admistrative complaint aided in advisors getting trained that they can in fact schedule a fourth class. If you enroll in only one class at a time you will continue to have the problem.

I am also having some serious concerns regarding multiple issues with GCU. I am a student, attending online. I have been informed today that GCU now uses an academic credit period instead of a semester period to calculate and post financial aid. I was told that financial aid posts after 12 credit hours????? I am a half time student, 6 credit hours per "semester" and did not have financial aid posting issues last year, 2009-2010. At this rate, I have now paid GCU for my fall 2010 semester courses, 6 credits and spring 2011 semester courses, 6 credits with only half of my financial aid posting. I have been told that my next financial aid will not post until the next 12 credit hours "begin", meaning after my courses end in late April 2011.........which if I continue straight through, would begin the day after that class ends in April through the fall semester of 2011, being paid out of my "second semester" FAFSA financial aid and loans posting in late 4/2011. I do not understand this process or "policy" and was not informed of this taking effect and I just don't get it!!! I need my financial aid refunds!
