my daughter had been a receptionist for over a year. dropping off bank bag at bank without being paid milage, picking up lunch orders from stylists, giving their change back to the last penny. about a month ago she was called in the back office and accused of stealing a $5.00 tip which usually she'll put to the side of the register when it's given to her by the customer so the stylist can pick it up at her convenience. of course it's accessible to anyone, a customer could have taken it or another stylist for that matter. my daughter had gone out back to throw the garbage out, so the reception was unattended for that time.

she had no pockets in her pants wore long sleeves. yes she could have put a fiver up her sleeve or her bra, but why jeopardise your job for a miserable $5. She was accused of theft nonetheless without any proof, no police was called and she was let go. she was emotionally heartbroken, and in shoked disbelief. the worst part is that the manager of the salon is blackballing my daughter by giving her personal opinion. my daughter was always on time, she was courteous and helpul and fulfilled her job description and more. they clashed a few times her manager would make jokes on colored people or religion and my daughter would take offense and complain about her unprofessional behavior and that's why they made up a bogus reason to fire her which is bad enough but trying to prevent my daughter from finding a job is the lowest of the low. it's very unprofessional to give subjectives opinions and not keep to the truth.

Great Clips is one of the most pathetic excuses of a salon I have worked for. Not only do they pay the same as fast food resturants, they have their stylists complete three days of "training" which is basically "How to cut hair four different ways", and you are forced to do them only in those four different ways, AND in under fifteen minutes! Now that's quality! I sympathize with your daughter. Be grateful she doesn't work there anymore. She would be better off at McDonalds.

I am just in shock that the employees at that Great Clips got to take a break to eat their lunch! I hope all is better with your daughter, and seriously be thankful she is out of that shop. Working at Great Clips as a stylist was a horrible mistake I made after cutting hair for well over 20 years; I am embarrassed to even put Great Clips on my resume. I have learned a valuable lesson to do research on a new company in town before being employed there. I have been looked down upon because I worked in what is considered a cheap chop shop, oh if I would have only known that the Great Clips name would have marked my name. I have learned to just never admit I worked there, so tell your daughter being let go was the best thing that could have happened to her.
