I purchased a visa prepaid card at our local Rite-Aid. When I called to activate my card they asked for my SSN and I reluctantly gave it to them. Then they offered me to change my VISA GOLD to a VISA PLATNUM ELITE for $19.95 and with that I would get all these great benefits. They included no fees to check on balances, no activation fee EVER and when this card expires they would send me a new one automatically.There would be no ATM fees,I would get a second card for free and I would get a $10.00 rebate when logging onto their website and entering my information.
So I fell for all of this and went ahead and logged onto their website and nothing. No rebate, no premier-anything, nothing other than an advertisement for green dot and how to reload your card. I tried to call but it was ALL AUTOMATED and I tried to contact them through their website and it gave me a po box to write too.
I just hope this is the end of my being ripped off-remember my dumb a*s went and gave them my SSN.
