On 7/8/06, my wife and I purchased a sofa and a leather care kit from Grossman Furniture. We placed a deposit of $1,689.19 for an 8 week delivery of the sofa. We expected it to arrive by 9/8/06. After many phone calls and e-mails from us to them, many of which were not returned, the sofa arrived on 11/4/06, 17 weeks after the initial order and 9 weeks after the outside date it was promised to us.

On its arrival, it was clear to us that the sofa was not close to the comfort and quality that had been represented to us. I immediately called their operations manager (Neel), who agreed to credit our visa the $1,689.19 deposit, and asked only that we give the leather care kit (which was never opened and still sealed)to the delivery men who were taking the sofa back to the store.

The sofa and the kit all went back on 11/4/06. On 11/9/06, my wife e-mailed the sales rep. at the store to verify that our account had been credited. In one of the few responses to our inquiries, he replied that he had seen Neel run the credit. Since then, we have called, e-mailed, and I even stopped into their showroom, but neither Neel, nor our sales rep. were there. They have never returned our calls and it is clear they have no intention of issuing this credit, as agreed.
