i went to harrelson nissan on dec. 26th to trade my nissan for another one. i test drove a xterra and decided that was the one i wanted to buy

i sat down with the finance manager to discuss my buying options. he said i could lease or buy. i told him i could not lease because i drove 104 miles to work a day and the limited miles would kill me. he told me nissan and wells fargo had unlimited miles. i thought that was odd but it had been years since i leased. i told him i still did not want to lease i wanted to buy

after several attempts to get the terms the way i wanted them i agreed to buy the car. i went into a second office to sign the papers. the guy went over the payment amount and how many months i was to pay but he never said lease. when he got to the part about the limited miles he flipped the page and went to the warrany section. i had several questions about the warranty and he got aggravated and said he would just give me 100000 mile warranty because it was late and he was ready to go home. he flipped the paper back over and said initial here, here, and sign here. i didn't read all of the contract because he was clearly annoyed and i was intimidated to hurry. i signed the paper. when i left i pulled out the paper and realized it was a lease. i couldn't believe it since i explicitely told them i didn't want to lease

i called the dealership immediately but they were already closed so i called the next morning. i explained there must have been a mistake because i got a lease agreement. they told me they would call me back. when they finally did again they told me not to worry the lease had unlimited miles. i said well i would come back down there so they could change the lease to say that

when i arrived charles wallace said he was the one that did the deal so he took us in an office to discuss the lease. he ask me if that was my signature on the paper and i said yes. he said you should have read it and you signed it so it is legal and they wouldn't do anything about it

i explained that i didn't realize it was a lease and i still wanted the car but i wanted to buy it. he would not budge on the decision. he told me my payment would be at least 120.00 more a month and i said that was fine because if i leased i would be in worse shape. again he refused to help

i ask him if they had to sell a car so bad that they would put a customer in a bad situation and he simply said yes...

i would like everyone to know not to go to harrelson nissan because they do not care what they have to do to sell a car

Cindy.... All this could have been avoided in the first place by doing something very, very simple...something Y-O-U do! Its called "READ BEFORE YOU SIGN!!!" How obvious is this??????

After speaking with Louis Harrelson who owns all of the Harrelson dealerships the dealership did tear up my lease and re-did the paperwork as a purchase agreement. The General Manager was very helpful in getting this matter resolved and appolgized for his employees reckless behavior.
