Haven Humane Society in Redding Ca is the most UNCARING people I have ever dealt with in my life. On easter weekend, my dog which she was half pitbull and half lab, and happen to get out through the fence to the front yard. This is in the neighborhood in Westwood Village off of HWY 273. My dog went across the street and was barking at an a*s hole neighbor who always antagonized my dog because she was a pittbull. Many wittnesses told me they saw the neighbor swinging a shovel at her. The neighbor then decided to go into his home and get his 45 cal. gun, get into the back of his truck, and then call my dog back over to his residence and shot her 2 times. My dog didnt die and was taken to the animal hospital which cost me $500 to keep her alive. The day she was released from the hospital, Haven Humane Society demanded her to be brought in to their pound. Sargent Sally Getts who works for Haven Humane is the main person who made all these demands, because she told me she hated pit bulls. I went to court to tell my side, but was a wast of time because Sally Getts and the City of Redding Manager didnt care what I had to say.

My dog NEVER bit anybody EVER! I have 2 young boys who loved her with all their hart. And I would never put my kids in any kind of danger. I ended up having to put my dog to sleep for barking at someone, and that is it! I also had to pay $300 in fines.

The man who shot my dog in the middle of the street on a Easter Holiday afternoon with children playing everywhere, was never charged with any crime and treated like a hero. Sally Getts of Haven Humane to this day still stalks my house just to rub it in my face. Haven Humane in Redding Ca, doesnt care about peoples pets, just their ego's. All of Haven Humanes dog catchers who drive around in their little white vans, all of them are wanna be police officers and take it out on animals because they arent real cops!

First of all, you did not have proper control of your dog as required by law. Secondly, Sally Goetz has not worked at Haven Humane for quite some time now so I cannot imagine who you think is stalking you. You sound a little paranoid. Obviously, by the outcome of the Dangerous Dog Hearing held by the City of Redding, you were deemed not a very good pet owner so I hope you don't get any funny ideas about owning any more dogs in your lifetime.

You are missing the point.

You chose to own an animal that is regarded as a vicious breed. You took no precautions to ensure that your animal remained enclosed in your fenced yard, and furthermore were not able to restrain your animal once it escaped from your yard and threatened a neighbor. Clearly you were aware of this happening, as you claim to have seen your neighbor trying to ward it off with a shovel as well as shoot it -- clearly because your neighbor feared for his/her safety. The bottom line is, none of this would have happened had you been a responsible dog owner and took care to restrain your dog per state and local animal control ordinances!

You failed

You failed to control your animal and your animal was on the property of your neighbor making threatening gestures barking). As a pet owner, especially of a dog that is large enough to cause serious harm to others, you have a responsibility to control your animal at all times. In this you failed. If you should chose to get another dog, hopefully you will take better precautions to ensure that your animal is confined to YOUR property at all times. This is for the safety of your animal as well as the safety of others.
