HBG Publications ripoff and completely dishonest Diamond Bar California
I recently quit my job at a restaurant due to personal issues. Trying to find a decent work from home job, I signed up with HBG. I responded to their ad in the classifieds which guaranteed earning money for stuffing envelopes. I sent away for the information on signing up. The information sent to me also guaranteed earning money for stuffing envelopes. But there was a $40.00 fee to have the "startup kit" sent. Which, at first, seemed understandable.
So I sent the 40 dollars. A couple weeks later I recieved this "startup kit" telling me that in order to start earning money I would have to pay to advertise their company, HBG, in several different newspapers and publications. Also, in the advertisements that I'd have to pay for, I'd have to use my own name and address, or advertise under a false business name, and/or use a PO Box Number, yet another expense coming from my own pocket.
If by chance some unsuspecting victim happens to respond to these ads which I would place, and send me a SASE, that's what I would in turn send in to HBG and get paid for. But I would have to wait to collect hundreds of these SASE's in order to get paid anything. In other words after paying more than several dollars out of pocket to advertise and possibly sign up for a PO Box, etc, I'd have to cross my fingers and hope that someone will actualy respond to my ads. I was lied to by HBG, and they are a fraudulent and misleading company adn everyone should be warned.
