We lost our health care coverage in February 2004. I happend to find this company while doing a search for new coverage. I read all the information on them and sent in a request to have an agent contact me.

After talking with him, I decided to go ahead with their coverage. I gave him all the info required including my checking account number. After my conversation with the agent my husband asked me if I first did a background check with the BBB (!!!!) This is something I always do and why it slipped this time I don't know.

I did a check immediately and found all of these complaints against the company. I called the agent back (at the most maybe 2 hours had past) and told him to cancel this insurance and NOT to withdraw any funds from my account. The first premium was to come out on the 2nd of July. I then called my bank and explained to the officer my situation. She would put a watch on this company & my account to make sure nothing would come through.

Now comes July 1, 2004. I get a call from Healthcare Advantage. The same agent I previously told NOT to try w/ding funds. He tells me my bank will not allow the transfer. I once again tell him I cancelled this insurance & told him he wasn't supposed to try getting funds out!! Not only was he not supposed to withdraw funds but he was trying to get it on the 1st of July!

Now comes July 26, 2004. I get a call from my bank. My account is overdrawn. I drive to the p.o. to get my banking statement.

I find there is an automatic transfer made to... you guessed it. Healthcare Advantage for $199.95!! My bank is going good on the o.d. charges because I wasn't offered the stop payment form. I called the Customer Service dept. of Healthcare Advantage. I will be re-imbursed the $99.95 but the $100.00 filing fee is in dispute and I should hear something within 10 days. I said my peace but I'm sure it fell on deaf ears. Has anyone ever got their $100.00 back? This company should be investigated.

The company did redeposit the FULL amount of $199.95 they withdrew from our checking account on August 12th. I wish you all the best and keep pressing them....
