Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

About a year ago, Jermaine Higgins and his company Hire GI, hired my boss to do contract work on their website. I was to be paid on this job. We completed the web work but he never paid

I really question HIRE GI integrity.

False Statements - Hire G.I Legal Team

#2UPDATE Employee

Thu, January 18, 2018

This report is to confirm that the statements below are false regarding Hire G.I and Jermaine Higgins. Hire G.I has never had outstanding accounts and doesn't have any accounts currently outstanding. Hire G.I has never worked with the individual below and the company that is stated for web services. After some research from our IT staff, we have found that the IP address of this complaint comes from Ric Hembree-Carter. Mr. Cater was a past contractor and is very upset about his termination.

Mr. Carter has a long record of behavior that has been in violation of California Penal Code Section 646.9(a) & it states: “Any person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows or willfully and maliciously harasses another person and who makes a credible threat with the intent to place that person in reasonable fear for his or her safety, or the safety of his or her immediate family is guilty of the crime of stalking, punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than one year, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by both that fine and imprisonment, or by imprisonment in the state prison.”

According to California Civil Code of Procedure Section 527.6, Hire G.I & Jermaine Higgins is entitled to seek a temporary restraining order for his civil harassment. Under California law, harassment is a “knowing and willful course of conduct directed at a specific person that seriously alarms, annoys, or harasses the person, and that serves no legitimate purpose.” (Cal. C.C.P. § 527.6). Through email correspondence dated October 31, 2017 and November 8, 2017, as well as, text message correspondence dated October 23, 2017, Mr. Higgins has repeatedly expressed to you that your communications are harassing and unwelcome. In his email correspondence to you on October 31, 2017, Mr. Higgins explicitly asked you to “stop calling, emailing, or texting [him] with false statement[s] and threatening messages.”

Furthermore, Hire G.I has learned that Ric Carter have engaged in spreading false and defamatory rumors like the compaint below.  This conduct is also unacceptable. Under California Civil Code Section 46, it is unlawful to engage in defamation of another’s character and reputation. Defamation includes slander, which is “a false and unprivileged publication” that injures any person “in respect to his office, profession, trade or business.” (Cal. C.C.P. § 46.)

Mr. Hembree-Carter, based on the above analysis, Mr. Higgins will have little trouble proving in a court of law that your actions constitute harassment and defamation. Your actions also infringe upon Mr. Higgins right to remain free from your conduct.

We are seeking extensive remedy; at law and equity.
