Hollywood Florida A TOTAL PARKING RIP OFF AND GETTING WORSE BY THE MOMENT Hollywood Florida
TRAVELERS ESPECIALLY THE "LIMITED INCOME HANNDICAPPED ".BEWARE OF HOLLYWOOD FLORIDA. THEY HAVE RECENTLY CHANGED THEIR PARKING LAWS FOR THE WORSE. HANDICAPPED GET NOTHING . LIMITED PARKING (4 HOURS) WITH A HANDICAPPED PLACARD CAN YOU IMAGINE ? THE SAME AS ANYONE ON THE STREET. I GUESS FLORIDA OR AT LEAST THIS CITY (HOLYWOOD CARES NOTHING ABOUT HADICAPPED) THE CITY IS PATHETIC . THEY ENFORCE PARKING WITH $10.10 AN HOUR METER MAIDS (24) HOURS A DAY (7) DAYS A WEEK. I WOULD CALL THAT GREED .
THEY HAVE DISCOVERED A CASH COW. OBVIOUSLEY THEIR CITY COUNCIL JIVE COULD USE A CLEAN OUT. IT TAKES ME 4 HOURS TO PARK, GET OUT AND WALK A BLOCK. FORGET SPENDING YOUR MONEY THERE ON TICKETS.GO TO CALIFORNIA ON VACATION. THEY LIKE US HANDICAPPED. STAY OUT OF THE "RED NECK RIVIERA" FLORIDA, THE ANYTHING GOES STATE.
NOW THEY HAVE CROSSED THE LINE. STATE LAW REQUIRES THESE PEOPLE TO PROVIDE A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE OF UN RESTRICTED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES. THEY DO NOT. HOLLYWOOD USE TO BE A NICE PLACE TO VISIT . NOW IT HAS TURNNED INTO ANOTHER FORT LAUDERDALE. THANKS BUT NO THANKS. MYSELF AND A DOZEN FRIEND HAVE BEEN GOING THERE FOR 40 YEARS. WERE DONE.
SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR HANDICAPPED FRIEND THAT HOLLYWOOD IS NOT HANDICAPPED FRIENDLY AND AS FAR AS MINE ARE CONCERNED THEY DICRIMINATE AGIANST US. OH I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION, THEY ARE IN CAHOOTS WITH THE TOW COMPANIES WHOM SET ACROSS THE STREET FROM THEIR "STING AREAS" WHICH IS NOTHING MORE THAN A SET UP TO TOW YOU FOR $130.00 AN DIT GOES ON AND ON. CNN SHOULD GO THERE AND PUT THEM ON NOTICE. VERY UN AMERICAN AND SOON TO BE COMPLETELY OWNED BY RUSSIAN FUNNY MONEY. JUST SAY NO TO HOLLYWOOD FL.

Sorry, but I'm a left wing liberal, pretty far left too. I think people can expect REASONABLE accomodations for handicap limitations.
I don't see how that gives you the right to park all day for free in a parking spot. Handicap parking is only intended to give you closer access, not alow you free parking for the whole day.
You still haven't explained how it takes 4 hours to park and walk 1 block.
Incidentally, Florida law allows time restrictions on handicap spaces. Completely unrestricted time is an unreasonable expectation. I think they should be metered too. After all, you get the prime locations.

All of the idiotic comments made about my report crack me up. And for the big shot who thinks i'M entitled ? and the one who asks how I can afford a vacation to Florida on a fixed income ? Just another bunch of Right Wingers taliking out both sodes of there mouth. Of course unless it happens to them.

- 4 Hours??? If it takes you 4 hours to find a parking place apparently no one else is bothered by having to pay the meters. If it takes you 4 hours too walk a block one has to wonder how you even have the strength to be able to drive. Heck even if you split the difference of 2 hours each one has to wonder. Or let me guess..this is just a "bit" of an exaggeration.

- I am curious how this concerned citizen on a "Limited Income" is able to afford vacations to both Florida and California(since they compare this to CA) yet can't afford an extra $1-$2/hr to park...AFTER getting 4 hours for free?

It really takes you 4 hours to park, get out and walk a block? Really? I'm having a hard time picturing that. Handicap spaces are usually placed so you can be nearer to a store entrance, not so you can park all day long.
