Monster.Com has become a sewer for advertisers for schooling and other services.There are minimal emplyment opportunities posted. There is no due diligence on Monster's behalf to protect the

job seeker from this type of behavior. I see a position and then find out is for further education or it goes to a different website that turns out to be a temp agency. Temps agencies are nothing but recruiters.

The jobs that they post are not really there- they are just trying to sign you up.

Sorry, you may work for Monster but you cannot deny all of the advertising scams to keep revenue

coming in. Since there are very few Employers posting jobs anymore Monster has to keep the revenue coming in. don't defend you company- start verifying and doing DUE DILIGENCE on posters.

Michaelj your comments are so correct I'm with you all the way these 3 companies(I don't want to mention for advertising reasons now) claim to offer legitimate Job offers and respond with don't put us in the same boat BS when they all do the same SHADY thing. Advertise before checking out scams/frauds/misleading DBA's/websites/companies that are nothing but SCAM ARTISTS , as far as I'm concerned they are no better than the SCAM ARTISTS. How can they be claiming not to be apart of these scams/frauds when they are letting them advertise/contact their customers for misleading/scam/fraud Job offers to help them stay in business. George if your company as well as these others were legitimate you would have checked out these scams/frauds/misleading companies first instead of having your customers do it for you, just because you work there doesn't mean it's not as SHADY as the scam artists. We can find out just by typing in the companies name/go to several sites to find out what kind of company it is and how many complaints they have, so I am wondering why can't these companies do the same before hand? Why do they have fraud departments to report scams/frauds after the fact and not a department to check before they advertise these scam artists? Any contract with a known scam/fraud should be terminated or your company doesn't have any kind of stipulation in it about false claims on services/products provided are legitimate by company? Any "LEGITIMATE" company checks products/services before they offer it to any of their customers or future customers that might use their company or is your company different from this operation? This is how companies stay in business and are not associated with the word scam/fraud/misleading when people talk about what service/website to use. If a scam/fraud company is on your site your company is not as good as you say it is , how do you expect a customer to use your service/website when known scams/frauds are being advertised and can be found by the everyday Joe but your company chooses not to check these things out first before advertising/letting them contact your customers? Sorry for the delay in my reply. Your concern for others is well respected, but please don't think I am posting any type of ad for my company. We may still have contracts that we will honor for a few of these companies that have advertised, but we have made these changes and not renewing any contracts. If a company or organization does not pay a job seeker via 1099 or W2 we will not advertise their opportunities. Our new CEO has clearly stated this and giving up the millions of dollars in revenue too. Now I have not mentioned my companies name once to avoid any self promoting concerns it is truly a great company to work for and I feel really good that I help people to find a new job or advance their career. In the near future none of these ads will be on our site. Thanks to people like you who also help to remind companies of their true mission. And yes sometimes we make mistakes or poor decisions, but fixing them are most important. Respectfully George

Dear sir, I applaud you for the free advertisment you just posted for Monster.com, You did a great job, but this forum I am afraid is about complaints, and legitimate ones at that, Now that being said I have proof that you are incorrect that multilevel marketing and work at home jobs have been and will continue to be posted on your employer's site, such as M.A.R.S international which still does and has been allowed to be posted on your site, although legitimate company, it is a work at home business or rather self starting business that most people are tricked into involving themselves into this company rather than a employer looking to hire an employee, in which your site promotes. Also other work at home and self starting businesses still are allowed posting. Now in your company's defense, Monster.com has improved over the years and yes I see less of these undesirable scams and work at home type postings and I commend your employer for taking such action to pass up $ on these adverstisments, but sorry they are still there, although they may be hidden they are there. See the thing is this, people who are likely to visit your company's site and others like your site, are in a situation that they either are looking to better themselves or the most likely out of a job completely and becasue of the latter situation may find themselves desperate and fall for some of these scams, in which these scammers hidden as employers are hoping for so that they can make money on a poor unfortunate soul. So as I may applaud your company for taking steps to filter out these idiots, Monster.com at one time and from time to time still get fake employers posting on there, now for you info, my complaint is not to bash your company or others like it but rather to warn potential, but yet unfortunate souls who may read this complaint, to be fair warned and yet educated to some extent about these type of postings, so you see I dont see a need for you to try and boost your company's advertising here in this forum.

I'm sorry but you are mistaken about Monster.Com. We have do not allow any type of multilevel marketing or even work at home type jobs to be posted on Monster. We have strict criteria to post a job on Monster. As the first company and pioneer of on-line job posting we have been defending our Noble Purpose We dedicate ourselves to bringing people together to advance their lives. I'm proud to say we have helped millions of people advance their lives - myself included. I posted my resume on Monster and they ended up hiring me. So maybe the other companies you mentioned allow those ads, we pass on millions of dollars that are offered to place these ads. Just wanted to make sure you understand that with nearly 60 million resumes in the Monster database and a billion in Revenue from fortune 500 companies searching these resumes, hiring professional and skilled positions, I think it backs my defense. The Noble Purpose is written on the walls at Monster and we know our work is helping people to achieve their professional career goals, assist companies find their talent, and balance workplace diversity. So please get your facts straight before you file a report.
