I am being billed for my balance plus interest plus late charges.Found out about the charges when the account was turned over by HRS and Best Buy to their collection agency. Started when I closed my account in August and also changed my billing address. I was NOT to pay anything until I reviewed a statement which no one was "authorized" to fax me...had to wait for the statement to review. I've called several times requesting that statement and to make sure my address was changed.

Here is it November and still had nothing to go on. Then came the collection notice which was mailed to my correct address even though Best Buy and HRS don't show that my new information exists in their system. Even though acknowledging the closing of my account...the account is stil ACTIVE. They even show someone else's phone number now associated with the account. Could it be the thief of my card? I've gone round and round with Executive Resolution dept at Best Buy and talked to 2 very incapable, uncaring people at HRS. Bottom line...I have to pay something to them to get a copy of those statements never sent just to see if the charges are my charges? No one will fax me anything in regards to my balance info and what happens if I make a payment to Best Buy/HRS....will I still owe the collections company? Probably. No one can stand behind verbal commitment with writing?

This is a real screw job. Best Buy has lost a whole family, a large one at that, who has made a lot of purchases from them for computers, electronics, and appliances. I would urge everyone to avoid BEST BUY who is not doing their part when you report potential fraud and certainly feels no responsibility in anything to do with HRS. They picked this company to handle their credit business; wouldn't you think they'd pick an ethical organization who can handle the basics of customer service? HRS is dangerous. I'd caution anyone who is getting store credit at any retail company..ask if HRS USA handles the credit. If the answer is yes...you better RUN.
